IVF – In Vitro Fertilization
Procedure brief :
In IVF Husband Sperm & wife eggs are placed together along with special nutrients required for survival & growth in a specialized incubator which mimics the human body temperature & conditions to help the sperm to go inside the egg & form an Embryo.
At Yashoda IVF Centre, after careful diagnosis & test reports of wife & sperm health test report of husband, the Infertility Specialist & Embryologist will suggest the procedure; it is entirely up to the embryologist to decide to do IVF or ICSI depending on various factors conducive for it on a case to case basis.
Some IVF hospitals performs repeated IUI’s, in spite of the initial diagnosis & tests of the patient suggests IVF or ICSI, Repeated failed IUI’s may affect the fertility health of the patient thus reducing the chances of pregnancy.
- Damaged or blocked Fallopian tubes.
- Low sperm count, poor sperm motility or blockage in the tubes that carry sperms in the males.
- Endometriosis is a condition in which the endometrium (uterine lining) grown outside of the uterus, e.g., ovaries, Fallopian tubes, etc. This affects both fertility of the egg & implantation of the embryo in the uterus.
- Problems in release or production of eggs.
- Abnormal uterus or cervix, etc
- Unexplained infertility.

Before the procedure – Husband sperm sample is collected in advance & frozen, This frozen husband sperm acts as an insurance for the couple & can save the IVF cycle cancellation if husband cannot give sperm sample on the day of procedure or he is not available at the time of procedure due to some work or emergency, under such circumstances this frozen husband sample can be used.
Sperm Processing – Obtained Husband sperm sample goes through a special wash & processing which removes dead & defective sperms along with other unwanted substances.
Sperm Testing – At Yashoda IVF Centre, we perform a detail sperm test called SFA (Sperm Function Analysis) & Sperm DNA test in which sperm sample is studied in detail along with its genetic DNA, reports are generated as per guidelines of WHO (world Health Organization).
Wife’s Egg Pick up – To retrieve wife’s eggs, she is given injections & other oral medicines as per her body diagnosis & after 10-12 days, the grown eggs are taken out from the wife’s body.
IVF is performed by the Embryologist under sterile conditions, and on day one the egg fused with the sperm in the dish forms an embryo.
This developed embryo is them transferred into wife’s uterus (A.K.A Embryo Transfer) on day 2 to 3 where it will grow further & can result in successful pregnancy
